The safer default is recording to a fast local SSD first, then transferring the finished file to network storage afterward, rather than writing directly across the network during the recording itself. If you do need to record directly to network storage, a wired connection between your recording machine and that storage device removes this specific risk almost entirely.
The Household's Unpredictable Background Noise
Smart home devices and other computers on your network don't coordinate their activity around your recording schedule — a security camera uploading a clip, a laptop pulling a system update, a thermostat checking in with its cloud service, all happening at moments that have nothing to do with anything you're doing, but landing right in the middle of a session anyway.
