For most creators, the realistic starting point is simpler than any of the hardware above: keep a phone with a reliable data plan nearby as a manual backup, ready to become a mobile hotspot if your primary connection genuinely fails mid-stream. It's not seamless, and it involves a real interruption, but it's free, requires no new equipment, and covers the actual emergency scenario for the vast majority of creators streaming as one part of their work rather than their entire income. Dedicated failover or bonding hardware becomes worth the cost specifically once streaming reliability has a direct, material impact on your income — a sponsorship, a subscription base, or a schedule your audience specifically counts on. Start with the fundamentals from earlier in this category, add the phone-as-backup habit, and only look at dedicated hardware once the stakes genuinely justify it.
